REJURAN downtime and flying: the short answer

REJURAN downtime commonly includes visible papules, swelling or bruising, but there is no universal number of days that makes flying safe for everyone. If you are flying home after treatment, the practical question is whether you will remain in Seoul long enough for the treating clinic to review anything unexpected. Needle marks, small raised papules, redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising can follow intradermal injections, but their visibility and duration vary with the product, amount, area, technique and individual response.

There is no credible REJURAN-specific study that establishes one safe flight interval for every traveler. A 2025 systematic review of aesthetic polynucleotide injections included only nine low- or moderate-quality studies and 219 patients, with different products, areas and techniques. Reported reactions were generally mild and transient, often resolving within a week, but that evidence cannot promise your personal recovery time.

For a short Seoul trip, the considerate plan is simple: consult early, share the exact flight and event dates, keep time for an in-person review and obtain a written route for help after you leave Korea. If the schedule makes that impossible, postponing the injection can be the sensible choice.

First, confirm which REJURAN product and how much was used

PharmaResearch’s official product information lists REJURAN as a polynucleotide, or PN, product supplied as 2 cc per syringe and two syringes per pack, with an intended purpose of temporary improvement of facial wrinkles. The brand also has named variants, so ‘I had REJURAN’ is not a complete medical record.

Before leaving the clinic, ask for the exact product and variant, total cc, treatment area, delivery method, clinician name, date and lot number. Keep photographs of the sealed label and the written aftercare instructions. The CDC’s medical-tourism guidance specifically recommends obtaining records that can be shared with a healthcare professional at home if follow-up is needed.

Le Moir’s current public menu identifies REJURAN 4 cc as a full-face reference. That amount should not be assumed for every face or every REJURAN variant. Suitability, area, technique and whether treatment should proceed at all require an in-person physician assessment.

Papules and bruising: what the evidence can—and cannot—time

Small papules may reflect the shallow placement of an injected material, while bruising can result from a needle meeting a small blood vessel. They are not automatically proof of a complication, and they are not a guarantee that everything is normal. Shape, color, tenderness, progression and accompanying symptoms matter more than a social-media timetable.

The 2025 systematic review reported localized pain, edema, itching, bruising, redness and transient irritation across a small, varied evidence base. A 2026 prospective observational study of 42 people receiving a different PN product around the eyes found mostly mild swelling and discomfort at two days, with a few instances of minor bruising. A separate 2026 retrospective periocular study recorded two mild events across 91 sessions, including papules lasting up to 24 hours. These studies are useful context, but neither provides a REJURAN full-face promise and both are too limited to define a universal ‘normal’ range.

This is why a photo from another patient cannot clear you to fly. If papules, swelling or bruising are not following the course your treating clinic described—or are becoming more painful, extensive or unusual—contact the clinic before the airport rather than waiting for an online reply after takeoff.

Expected-looking recovery versus symptoms that should not wait

Mild localized tenderness, redness, swelling, needle marks, papules and bruising can occur after an injection. The treating clinician should tell you what is common for the exact product, area and technique used, how long their usual range is and how to send a clear photograph for review.

Urgent assessment is different from routine reassurance. Severe or increasing pain, rapidly spreading redness or swelling, skin that becomes white, gray, blue or mottled, pus, fever, vision change, weakness, facial drooping, speech difficulty, trouble breathing, widespread hives or faintness should not wait for a scheduled flight or a casual message. Seek immediate medical care and notify the treating clinic when safe to do so.

A blog cannot diagnose infection, allergy, vascular injury or another complication from a description. If you are uncertain, an in-person assessment is safer than trying to force the symptom into a ‘normal downtime’ box.

Aftercare is product- and technique-specific

The written instructions from the treating clinic should outrank a generic checklist. Do not massage, press, apply heat, use a strong active product or copy an ice protocol from another injectable unless your clinician specifically approves it for your product, area and technique. Ask when cleansing, makeup, exercise, sauna, swimming, alcohol, sun exposure and your usual skincare may resume.

Keep the treated area clean and avoid picking at papules. Use only products and medicines that your clinician has said are appropriate. Do not start aspirin, an antibiotic, a steroid or an anticoagulant to manage cosmetic-injection recovery without advice from a qualified healthcare professional who knows your medical history.

Flying home: use the broad guidance carefully

The CDC Yellow Book summarizes an American Society of Plastic Surgeons recommendation to wait 7–10 days after laser treatments or cosmetic procedures to the face, eyelids or nose before flying. That is broad medical-tourism guidance—not a REJURAN-specific trial, not a guarantee that day seven is right for everyone and not permission to ignore the clinician who examined you.

Long flights also involve prolonged sitting. CDC guidance says travel-related blood-clot risk rises with duration and is concentrated in people with additional risk factors such as recent surgery, previous clots, active cancer, pregnancy, estrogen use or restricted mobility. A routine REJURAN injection should not be equated with major surgery, and the available evidence does not show that REJURAN itself creates a flight-related clot risk. Discuss your individual risks with an appropriate clinician rather than self-prescribing aspirin or anticoagulants.

Cabin air may make skin feel dry, but dryness is not proof that the product has failed or migrated. Bring the clinic’s contact details and your treatment record in your carry-on, keep any prescribed medicine in original packaging, and know where you would seek urgent care during the journey and after landing.

A friend’s before-checkout checklist

A calm departure starts at the clinic desk, not at the gate. You do not need a complicated recovery kit; you need a precise record, a realistic follow-up plan and permission to delay treatment when the itinerary is too tight.

If the clinic cannot clearly name the product, amount, clinician and route for follow-up, pause before proceeding. A lower price cannot replace continuity of care.

• Which cleansing, skincare, makeup, exercise, heat and sun instructions apply to me?

• Would staging the treatment or waiting until another trip be safer and easier to follow?
