One device does not mean one setting
Clarity II is a dual-wavelength laser platform. Its 755 nm Alexandrite wavelength and 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength interact differently with melanin, blood vessels and tissue depth.
That gives a clinician options for pigment, vascular concerns and hair reduction. It does not mean every brown mark should receive the same wavelength or energy.
A spot may be a freckle, solar lentigo, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma or another lesion. Some conditions can worsen with poorly selected heat or require medical investigation rather than cosmetic treatment.
Why skin tone and pigment history matter
Melanin absorbs laser energy. The amount and distribution of melanin in the skin therefore affect wavelength, fluence, pulse duration, cooling and treatment interval.
A history of tanning, recent sun exposure, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation or melasma changes the risk discussion. Photographs help, but an in-person assessment is better for examining color, borders, depth and pattern.
- Do not tan before treatment and disclose recent sun exposure.
- Mention pregnancy, photosensitizing medicines and pigment changes.
- Ask whether a test spot or staged plan is appropriate.
Recovery and realistic expectations
After pigment-focused treatment, temporary redness, swelling, darkening, crusting or sensitivity may occur. Vascular and hair-reduction settings have their own expected responses.
Post-inflammatory pigment change, blistering, burns, scarring and paradoxical changes are possible risks. Careful settings and sun protection matter, but no clinic can promise zero risk.
Melasma often behaves as a recurring condition influenced by heat, hormones, ultraviolet and visible light. Management may involve skin care and maintenance rather than an aggressive one-session removal goal.
How Le Moir builds a brightening plan

Before you book
Can Clarity II remove melasma permanently?
Melasma is often recurrent and influenced by multiple factors. Laser may be considered within a management plan, but permanent removal should not be promised.
Is 755 nm or 1064 nm better?
Neither is universally better. Target color and depth, skin tone, recent sun exposure and treatment goal guide wavelength and settings.
Can I have laser while sightseeing in summer?
Sun exposure around treatment can raise risk. Tell the clinic about your itinerary and be prepared to modify outdoor plans and use rigorous sun protection.
